Venus in Scorpio Until October 3: Check These 3 Marriage Doshas Before You Decide

Venus enters Scorpio on September 10 and stays there until October 3, when it turns retrograde and keeps the same intense, excavating energy running for weeks longer. That is a long window in which relationship decisions get made. Before you make one, check three specific doshas in the kundli: Nadi, Bhakoot, and Mangal. They are the ones that actually change the answer.

  • The dates: Venus in Scorpio from September 10 to October 3, then retrograde, so the themes repeat rather than expire.
  • Why these three: Nadi governs health and progeny, Bhakoot governs emotional and financial harmony, Mangal governs conflict and timing. Together they cover most of what a marriage has to survive.
  • What you get: A simple check for each dosha, what it looks like in a kundli, and a specific remedy, not a generic "wear red."
  • The one thing to remember: A dosha present in isolation is rarely a dealbreaker. Cancellation rules matter more than the dosha itself.
TL;DR: Venus in Scorpio rewards depth over speed. Check Nadi, Bhakoot, and Mangal in both charts, apply the cancellation rules, and use the Oct 3 retrograde period to revisit anything you rushed in September.

Why Venus in Scorpio Is the Right Trigger for a Dosha Check

Western astrology describes Venus in Scorpio as obsessive, magnetic, and uninterested in small talk, a transit that "arouses intensity." That description is accurate but it stops at the feeling. Vedic astrology asks the next question: intensity toward what, and with whom?

Scorpio is ruled by Mars and sits as the eighth sign of the zodiac. The eighth house in a kundli governs longevity, inheritance, hidden matters, and transformation. When Venus, the planet of marriage and partnership, moves through a Mars-ruled eighth-house sign, the traditional reading is that relationship matters stop being surface-level. Old attachments resurface. Half-decided things demand a decision. Couples who have been "seeing where it goes" find that it goes somewhere.

That is exactly why this is the wrong month for a generic love horoscope and the right month for a kundli reading. A horoscope tells every Scorpio the same thing. A kundli tells you whether the person in front of you shares your Nadi, whether your Bhakoot numbers agree, and whether either chart carries Mangal dosha. Those three checks decide more than any transit description can.

The September to October timeline

PeriodVenus positionWhat it is good for
Sept 10 to Oct 3Venus direct in ScorpioDirect conversations. Proposals, family meetings, matching kundlis, saying the difficult thing out loud.
Oct 3 onwardVenus retrograde in ScorpioRevisiting. Exes, old proposals, second thoughts, and decisions you made too fast in September.
After retrograde endsVenus resumes direct motionFinalising. Whatever survived the retrograde review is usually the real answer.

The retrograde is not a warning to avoid commitment. It is an extension of the same window with a different task. Direct Venus asks you to look. Retrograde Venus asks you to look again.

Dosha 1: Nadi Dosha, the Health and Progeny Check

Nadi is one of the three Kuta factors in traditional Ashtakoot matching, alongside Bhakoot and Gana. The nakshatras are divided into three Nadis: Adi (Vata), Madhya (Pitta), and Antya (Kapha). The rule is blunt. If both partners fall in the same Nadi, Nadi dosha is present.

Classical texts treat Nadi as the heaviest of the eight kutas, weighted at eight points out of thirty-six. The stated concerns are the health of the couple and the couple's children. That is why it carries weight. It is not about compatibility of temperament. It is about lineage.

How to check it in your kundli

  1. Find your birth nakshatra, the lunar mansion the Moon occupied at your birth.
  2. Identify which of the three Nadis that nakshatra belongs to.
  3. Do the same for your partner.
  4. If the Nadi is the same on both sides, the dosha is present.
  5. Then, and only then, check the cancellation rules below before treating it as final.
Adi Nadi (Vata)
Associated with movement and air. Nakshatras include Ashwini, Ardra, Punarvasu, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Jyeshtha, Mula, Shatabhisha, and Purva Bhadrapada.
Madhya Nadi (Pitta)
Associated with heat and transformation. Nakshatras include Bharani, Mrigashira, Pushya, Purva Phalguni, Chitra, Anuradha, Purva Ashadha, Dhanishta, and Uttara Bhadrapada.
Antya Nadi (Kapha)
Associated with stability and water. Nakshatras include Krittika, Rohini, Ashlesha, Magha, Swati, Vishakha, Uttara Ashadha, Shravana, and Revati.

Cancellation rules that matter more than the dosha

Nadi dosha is widely considered cancelled in several standard situations:

  • The Moon signs of both partners are different and the birth nakshatras are also different, even though the Nadi matches.
  • Both partners share the same nakshatra but have different charan (quarters).
  • The Rashi lords of the two Moons are friendly or the same planet.
  • The couple's overall Ashtakoot score remains strong despite the Nadi points being zero.
A single zero on a scorecard is not a verdict. It is a prompt to look at the cancellation rules and at the rest of the chart, which is precisely what a proper kundli reading does and a score out of 36 does not.

Remedy

The traditional remedy for Nadi dosha is Nadi Nivaran Puja, performed with both families present where possible. Alongside it, couples worship Lord Shiva and Parvati together, and chant the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra. A commonly prescribed count is 108 repetitions daily, though a family priest will often set a specific count and duration based on the charts. Some traditions also prescribe a fast on Mondays through the period.

The reasoning behind the remedy is worth understanding rather than just performing. Nadi is a lineage dosha, so the remedy is explicitly a joint one. Both partners participate. That is part of the point.

Dosha 2: Bhakoot Dosha, the Emotional and Financial Check

Bhakoot measures the relationship between the two Moon signs. Count from one partner's Moon sign to the other's and you get a number between one and twelve. Certain pairs are considered afflicted. The problematic relationships are 2/12, 5/9, and 6/8.

Each pairing is associated with a different difficulty. 2/12 is read as financial strain or one partner's family becoming a drain. 5/9 touches children and, in some readings, longevity of the relationship. 6/8 is the harshest, associated with debt, disputes, and health friction between the couple. Bhakoot is weighted at seven points.

Get the counting right

The most common error is counting Moon signs instead of birth stars, or counting in the wrong direction. Both are usually treated as visible and cancelling. If the Moon signs are the same, or the Moon sign lords are the same planet, or the birth nakshatras are the same, Bhakoot dosha is generally not applied. A competent reading states which one it is using and why.

Remedy

For Bhakoot, the standard prescription is worship of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi as a couple. Some traditions specify a Vishnu Sahasranama recitation, others a Rohini Shanti or specific Shanti Puja set by the family priest. Couples observing the remedy together, rather than one partner carrying it alone, is the consistent instruction.

There is a practical layer here too, and it is the one that ages well. Bhakoot names the exact area where a couple is likely to struggle. Money, or children, or conflict under pressure. Knowing which one lets you build the habit before the pressure arrives, which is a
